The World's Slowest Express Train

Leaving Zermatt we took the Alpine Express across most of Switzerland.  I am not sure why they call it an express when it stops at several stations, but they do.  We only rode as far as Chur, but the train continued on to St. Moritz.

We had views of spectacular mountains, but the glare on the windows did not allow for many good pictures.  Switzerland is famous for many things, including black bearded sheep. They look as if the front half was dipped in dark chocolate and the back half was dipped in white chocolate.

Many of the houses have roofs made of slices of stone.  Some seem to have been trimmed so they are all the same size, but others seem to use whatever shape is available.

In the high meadows the vegetation is turning to reds and yellows.  I do not know what plant it is, but it certainly is colorful.
