Barcelona is a beautiful town, but we have been there twice before, so we decided on a different tour, one to the resort city of Sitges.

Greenhouses coved large areas.  Our guide thought that this time of year the most prevalent crop was  artichokes, but she did not know much about farming practices.

The road to Sitges followed the coast.  Fingers of   mountains reached            down to the coast, so the freeway  went through several long tunnels.              The landscape seems dry with many ornament clumps of grasses.

This house, named "Country House" is in the middle of Old Town.

The City Hall (right) is built on the foundations of the castle.

Narrow streets                                    The city symbol represents                This water fountain at the base of a

the sun and the sea.                                palm tree still works.

Some things never change.

This jeweler has outdoor displays to catch the eve of passing people.

The sign
basically says "No Graffiti".  "Clean walls are a great sign of Civilization."
The Old Town is close to the sea, making it a destination for tourists, artists and writers.

Some things DO change, like this sign for one-way traffic.

We ended out tour with a stop for "tapas".
