Yesterday morning the captain came on the intercom with bad news. Senegal, which had said they would welcome us, changed their minds and decided they did not want 400 strangers wandering around their country. Instead, we are planning to stop at the Cape Verde Islands. I do not know what we will do there, but it is supposed to be a stop.
This morning, in the Viking Daily, there was a letter from the Captain. It seems that there is a storm headed our way, and the port of Malaga requests (demands) that all ships leave the harbor by noon. We will only be in port long enough to pick up supplies. Therefore, no tours. I know that we need supplies before we sail across the Atlantic. We are all out of bananas!
